Mood DisordersMood disorders-Depression and Bipolar disorder
Mood Disorders
A mood disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person feels about him or herself and even the way they eat, sleep, and think. Mental illness such as depression and bipolar are common examples of mood disorder.
According to the current research studies, depression maybe due to brain’s chemical imbalance, where the decrease in the production of serotonin by serotonergic neurons has been related to the cause of common mood disorders such as clinical depression and bipolar. What makes my treatment metrology to mood disorders unique and special is that in addition to traditional psychotherapy I use the applications of neurocognitive therapy and affective neuroscience such as Visual Concentration Attention Therapy (VCAT) integrated with brain mapping, visualization, and neurofeedback technology. VCAT is the absolute power towards regulating brain’s chemical imbalance. It is designed with the most precise patterns of therapeutic stimulations to provide enhancement in any neural network and brain chemical imbalance related dysfunction.
VCAT Treatment Plan
Prefrontal lobe: to increase (low Beta brain waves/ low serotonin, dopamine and /or norepinephrine)
Temporal lobes to decrease (high-GABA/high Theta brain waves)
Parietal lob: to decrease (high alpha/ Acetylcholine)
Occipital lob: to increase (low serotonin/delta waves).
The effectiveness of VCAT has been researched and its foundation is based on empirical and scientifically neurocognitive theories.
